Ms. Banks currently serves as the Healthy Families Gadsden/Leon Program Manager as employed by Brehon Institute for Family Services, Inc. and has served in this position since the inception of the program in 1999. Healthy Families is a premiere statewide child abuse and neglect prevention program that is evidence based and nationally accredited. Ms. Banks is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of the program which includes, but is not limited to, project contract compliance, program analysis & internal quality assurance, staff supervision, coordinating training, establishing and maintaining collaborative community partnerships, assurance of statistical & demographic data entry and accuracy, completion of required reports, monitoring & meeting required Healthy Families Florida process and outcome measures.
For 10 years prior to serving in this capacity Ms. Banks held a variety of management, supervisory and direct service positions in various prevention programs with Brehon including Supervisor, Staff Coordinator and Case Manager. In addition, she is qualified as a Field Instructor I for both Florida State University and Florida A & M University and historically served as a Staff Aide to Senator Bob Graham.
Ms. Banks’ has passionately spent her 33-year professional career in the maternal & infant/child health arena with a focus on both the prevention of poor birth outcomes and the prevention of child abuse & neglect.
Ms. Banks received her Masters and Bachelor’s degrees in Social Work from Florida State University. She is married with two daughters.
